How a chain reaction game works
Two players share a grid. On your turn you place one atom in an empty cell or a cell you already own. Every cell has a critical mass: 2 for corners, 3 for edges and 4 for centre cells.
When a cell reaches its critical mass it explodes, sending one atom into each neighbouring cell and turning those cells to your colour. If that pushes a neighbour to its own critical mass, it explodes too. One move can set off a chain reaction that sweeps across the whole board. The last player with atoms left wins.
Ways to play online
- Ranked matches: get paired with an opponent of similar skill and earn trophies.
- Private rooms: host a match and share the room code with a friend.
- Vs computer: practise against an AI on Easy, Medium or Hard.
- Offline match: pass one device around and play together locally.
Tips for your first game
- Start in the corners: they explode after only 2 atoms.
- Do not load a cell to one below critical mass right next to an opponent cell that is closer to exploding than yours.
- Watch the whole board before each move. A cascade can start far from where the action seems to be.
- Read the chain reaction strategy guide when you are ready to win more.
